  • 4 medium Russet potatoes Perfect for achieving the ideal fry texture.
  • 4 cups vegetable oil Essential for frying.
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For added flavor.
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Adds a rich, cheesy goodness.
  • 2 green onions (chopped) For garnish.
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce Drizzled on top for heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and peel the Russet potatoes.
  2. Cut the potatoes into even strips, about a quarter of an inch thick.
  3. Soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the soaked potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, approximately 5-7 minutes each.
  3. Remove the fries and let them drain on paper towels. Season with cayenne pepper and garlic powder while still hot.
  4. Serve fries on a platter, drizzled with hot sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions.

Notes

Try double frying for extra crispiness and adjust spices to your liking. For a heartier meal, add grilled chicken or shrimp on top.
