Preparation
- Wash and peel the Russet potatoes.
- Cut the potatoes into even strips, about a quarter of an inch thick.
- Soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the soaked potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, approximately 5-7 minutes each.
- Remove the fries and let them drain on paper towels. Season with cayenne pepper and garlic powder while still hot.
- Serve fries on a platter, drizzled with hot sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions.
Notes
Try double frying for extra crispiness and adjust spices to your liking. For a heartier meal, add grilled chicken or shrimp on top.
