Frosting Ingredients

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round baking pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cake flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add the granulated sugar until airy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
  5. Add the vanilla extract.
  6. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Frosting
  1. Allow cakes to cool in pans for about 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks.
  2. Once cool, frost with cream cheese icing.
