Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk. Cream together with a mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour, salt, and finely chopped nuts (if using) until the dough is smooth.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of dough and roll them into small balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet with space in between.
Baking
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then roll in powdered sugar.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Consider serving these cookies garnished with mint leaves for special occasions. For a different flavor, substitute nuts with almonds or hazelnuts.
