  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts Optional, adding a delightful crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk. Cream together with a mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour, salt, and finely chopped nuts (if using) until the dough is smooth.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of dough and roll them into small balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet with space in between.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then roll in powdered sugar.
  3. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Consider serving these cookies garnished with mint leaves for special occasions. For a different flavor, substitute nuts with almonds or hazelnuts.
