  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for balancing flavors.
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper Adds a slight kick.
  • 15 ounces low-sodium beef broth Provides moisture and flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, then add your ground beef. Cook until it’s mostly browned.
  2. Toss in the chopped onions and bell peppers right into the skillet. Let them soften for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, being careful not to let it burn.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, beef broth, diced tomatoes, and uncooked rice.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover, reduce to a simmer, and let it cook for 20 minutes, stirring midway.
  6. Remove the lid, stir in half of your mozzarella and cheddar cheeses until melted.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and allow it to melt gently or place under the broiler for a quick melt.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately while it’s hot and gooey.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, consider using lean ground turkey, cauliflower rice, or adding more vegetables like zucchini. Avoid overbaking to maintain texture.
