Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, chopped onion, uncooked rice, salt, and the cooked ground beef until well combined.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish and distribute it evenly.
  5. Pour the beef broth over the top of the mixture.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake in the oven for 1 hour, then remove and stir gently. Cover and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until cabbage is tender and rice is cooked.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, use lean ground turkey or plant-based proteins. This casserole can be made ahead and freezes well.
