- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- In a bowl, mix chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, chopped onion, uncooked rice, salt, and the cooked ground beef until well combined.
- Spoon the mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish and distribute it evenly.
- Pour the beef broth over the top of the mixture.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the oven for 1 hour, then remove and stir gently. Cover and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until cabbage is tender and rice is cooked.
- Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, use lean ground turkey or plant-based proteins. This casserole can be made ahead and freezes well.
