  • 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained Add both the pineapple and its juice.
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix This thickens the mixture.
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows Adds a fun element.
  • 1 cup diced strawberries (fresh or frozen, thawed) Fresh strawberries offer the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Chopped pecans or walnuts enhance the flavor.
Topping
  • 1 cup whipped topping (such as Cool Whip) This gives the salad its fluffy texture.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the drained crushed pineapple and the instant vanilla pudding mix. Stir until combined and the pudding mix has dissolved.
  3. Gently fold in the mini marshmallows and diced strawberries. If using, add the chopped nuts.
  4. Carefully fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is fluffy and well blended.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
  6. Once chilled, serve the Strawberry Fluff Salad cold, garnished with additional strawberries or nuts.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese. You can experiment with flavors such as almond extract or different fruits like blueberries and bananas. This dessert is also ideal for picnics and potlucks as it holds its flavor beautifully when sitting out.
