Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C) and place a pizza stone in the oven if using.
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Arrange the slices of chorizo evenly over the cheese.
- Brush the exposed crust with olive oil.
- Optional: Sprinkle dried oregano and garlic powder over the toppings.
Baking
- If using a pizza stone, slide the pizza onto it and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. If using a baking sheet, bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
- The pizza is ready when the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Serving
- Allow the pizza to cool slightly, then garnish with fresh herbs.
- Slice into 8 pieces and serve immediately.
Notes
For a crusty pizza, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings. Customize with additional toppings as desired.
