Ingredients

Pasta and Meat Ingredients
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with lean ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Substitute with any preferred pasta sauce.
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Can swap for light cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Olive oil for cooking
Garnish
  • to taste Fresh basil for garnish Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Once the beef is browned, add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Stir in the marinara sauce and cream cheese, letting it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Incorporate the cooked spaghetti into the meat sauce mixture and toss to coat.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Be careful not to overbake the cheese or leave the meat too long in the pan to prevent dryness. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days in the fridge, or freeze for longer storage.
