- In a large mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- If desired, mix in a few drops of red food coloring to achieve a festive hue.
- Dust your hands and work surface with cornstarch. Roll the mixture into small balls, approximately 1-inch in diameter, and flatten slightly to form disks.
- Coat each flattened peppermint in granulated sugar.
- Arrange the sugared mints on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them firm up at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours.
Notes
Use cold hands to prevent the mixture from becoming sticky. Feel free to experiment with different flavor extracts. Package in decorative jars or bags for gift giving.
