For the chicken

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix together the allspice, thyme, brown sugar, minced garlic, and chopped onion in a bowl.
  2. Stir in the black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper, followed by the lime juice, soy sauce, and chicken broth.
Marination
  1. Place the chicken into the slow cooker and pour the marinade mixture evenly over the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and set to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
Serving
  1. Carefully lift the chicken from the slow cooker and serve with rice and peas.

For best results, marinate chicken overnight. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking for optimal flavor infusion.
