Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with softened butter and dust it lightly with flour.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth and fluffy. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the fresh berries, keeping them whole.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
