Ingredients
Method
Preheat and Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your cake mixture per the package instructions, typically involving eggs, oil, and water.
- Line your muffin tin with colorful cupcake liners and evenly distribute the batter among the cups.
- Bake in the preheated oven for around 18-22 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
Make the Frosting
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each cup. Blend in the milk and vanilla extract until achieving a smooth and fluffy consistency.
Decorate the Cupcakes
- Frost each cooled cupcake generously with the buttercream.
- Melt the red candy melts according to the package instructions to create a cute round nose on top of each cupcake.
- Melt the white candy melts and craft two small circles above the nose, placing a mini chocolate chip in the center of each for the eyes.
- Insert broken pretzels into the frosting on either side of the cupcake for antlers.
Set and Serve
- Allow the cupcakes to sit for a few minutes for the candy melts to harden. Serve them to friends and family during holiday celebrations.
Notes
Consider adding a pinch of cocoa powder to the frosting or trying different cake mix flavors for variations. Involve kids in the decorating process for fun.
