Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease three 8×8-inch baking pans.
- Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions.
- Divide the batter into three bowls: one plain, one with red food coloring, and one with blue food coloring.
Baking
- Pour each colored batter into prepared pans and bake for 14-16 minutes.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
Assembly
- Crumble the cooled cakes into separate bowls.
- Mix an equal portion of softened cream cheese into each bowl until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a tray. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off before placing them back on the tray.
- Sprinkle the cake balls with red, white, and blue sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
- Refrigerate for an additional 15 minutes to let the chocolate set.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing. Use store-bought melting chocolate for simplicity.
