Preparation
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll chilled dough into 1 to 1.5-inch balls and coat with powdered sugar.
- Place rolled balls on prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Allow to cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
