Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead for approximately 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover and leave the dough in a warm place for about an hour to double in size.
Make the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and peppermint extract.
  2. Mix until smooth and creamy. Crush the peppermint candies.
Assemble the Pull-Apart Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Once your dough has risen, punch it down and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  3. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, sprinkle with the crushed candies, and slice the dough into strips.
  4. Stack these strips vertically and place them in the loaf pan.
  5. Allow the dough to rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Bread
  1. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Cover with foil if the top browns too quickly.
Make the Glaze
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and peppermint extract until smooth.
Glaze and Serve
  1. Allow the bread to cool for about 5-10 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, allow ingredients to come to room temperature before starting. Optional: Use chocolate chips or experiment with flavored sugars in filling.
