Ingredients

Crust
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs These add a crunchy, sweet base.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted This helps bind the crust together.
Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Creates a creamy, luscious layer.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness to the cream cheese mixture.
  • 1 cup whipped cream or Cool Whip For a light and airy texture.
Filling
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped Adds crunch and amplifies pecan flavor.
  • 1 cup pecan pie filling The main flavor component of the dessert.

Method

Preparation of Layers
  1. In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until they resemble wet sand. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish to form the crust.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream until fluffy.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust.
  4. Pour the pecan pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped pecans generously over the top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set. Serve chilled.

Notes

Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. For a different flavor profile, substitute graham cracker crumbs with crushed cookies or nuts. Consider using Greek yogurt instead of whipped cream for fewer calories. Get creative with layers, possibly adding chocolate or fruit.
