Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef, Turkey, Chicken, or Plant-Based Options Choose your preferred protein.
  • 1 medium Onion Sweeter variety brings depth.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Aromatic and pungent.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Essential seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Adds a subtle smokiness.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce For umami flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Optional binding agent.
  • 1 cup Cheese Optional for additional flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick ½ inch slices and lightly brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your choice of ground meat, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir until combined. Add the egg if using.
  4. Form patties from the meat mixture to match the size of the cabbage slices.
  5. Place the formed patties on top of the cabbage slices on a baking sheet and optionally use parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, checking at the 20-minute mark.
  2. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top of each patty and broil for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until melted.
  3. Serve and enjoy, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

If using ground turkey, chicken, or lentils, you can modify the recipe for healthier options. Consider adding chopped vegetables to the mixture for added texture and nutrition.
