Frosting Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Base for creamy frosting.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Sweetens and thickens frosting.
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream Makes frosting velvety.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos for topping For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth without lumps.
  3. Gently fold in 1 cup of crushed Oreos.
Baking
  1. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. Beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
  2. Incorporate the heavy cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in another cup of crushed Oreos.
Assembly
  1. Once the cupcakes are cool, generously frost each one and top with additional crushed Oreos.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Consider adding chocolate chips for extra flavor. Chill frosting if too soft for piping. Variations with different cake mixes are also enjoyable.
