Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth without lumps.
- Gently fold in 1 cup of crushed Oreos.
Baking
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
Frosting
- Beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Incorporate the heavy cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Gently fold in another cup of crushed Oreos.
Assembly
- Once the cupcakes are cool, generously frost each one and top with additional crushed Oreos.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Consider adding chocolate chips for extra flavor. Chill frosting if too soft for piping. Variations with different cake mixes are also enjoyable.
