Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- On a floured surface, stretch or roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness, typically around 12 inches in diameter.
- Lightly dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking.
- Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto the prepared pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Gently brush the surface of the dough with olive oil, covering it evenly.
Cooking
- In a skillet over medium heat, add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until the mushrooms have released their moisture and are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Evenly distribute the sautéed mushrooms over the olive oil-brushed dough. Add crumbled goat cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Sprinkle thyme or rosemary and red pepper flakes over the pizza for added flavor if desired.
- Slide the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then slice it into wedges to serve.
Notes
Tips include experimenting with fresh herbs and adding more veggies. For a better crust, use a pizza stone.
