  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary (optional) Fresh herbs add a fragrant touch.
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For a hint of spice, if desired.
  • for dusting Cornmeal or flour Prevents sticking and helps achieve a perfectly baked crust.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  2. On a floured surface, stretch or roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness, typically around 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Lightly dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking.
  4. Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto the prepared pizza peel or baking sheet.
  5. Gently brush the surface of the dough with olive oil, covering it evenly.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until the mushrooms have released their moisture and are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Evenly distribute the sautéed mushrooms over the olive oil-brushed dough. Add crumbled goat cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  3. Sprinkle thyme or rosemary and red pepper flakes over the pizza for added flavor if desired.
  4. Slide the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  5. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then slice it into wedges to serve.

Notes

Tips include experimenting with fresh herbs and adding more veggies. For a better crust, use a pizza stone.
