Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Cooking
- Bake for about 20 minutes until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce for a few minutes.
Assembly
- Slice open each hoagie roll, making a pocket for the fillings.
- Fill the rolls with the meatballs and sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Broil under high heat for 2–4 minutes until the cheese bubbles and turns golden.
Notes
For an elevated flavor, consider adding herbs like fresh basil or parsley. For easier cleanup, line the baking sheet with foil. Meatballs freeze well for up to 3 months.
