Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch bundt pan or a round springform pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just incorporated.
Streusel Preparation
- In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, ground cinnamon, chopped nuts, and melted butter. Mix until evenly coated and crumbly.
Layering and Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, then sprinkle half of the streusel mixture over the top.
- Optionally spread the cream cheese filling over this layer, then add the remaining cake batter and finish with the remaining streusel.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before carefully removing it.
