  • 12 pieces pepperoncini peppers Adds a delightful tanginess.
  • 1/4 cup juice from the pepperoncini jar Infuses each bite with extra flavor.
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (1 ounce) Elevates the dish with creamy richness.
  • 1 packet au jus seasoning (1 ounce) Adds depth of savory flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick, cut into pieces) Creates a rich sauce that coats the chicken.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the four large chicken breasts in your slow cooker, gently laying them down.
  2. Pour the tangy juice from the pepperoncini jar over the chicken.
  3. Scatter the pepperoncini peppers on or around the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus seasoning generously over the chicken.
  5. Cut the stick of unsalted butter into pieces and place them on top of the mixture.
  6. Cover your slow cooker’s lid and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  7. When done, use two forks to shred the chicken and mix it with the flavorful sauce.

Notes

Mississippi Chicken can be served over rice, in sandwiches, or with your favorite sides. To store leftovers, divide portions into airtight containers and freeze.
