Preparation
- Place the four large chicken breasts in your slow cooker, gently laying them down.
- Pour the tangy juice from the pepperoncini jar over the chicken.
- Scatter the pepperoncini peppers on or around the chicken.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus seasoning generously over the chicken.
- Cut the stick of unsalted butter into pieces and place them on top of the mixture.
- Cover your slow cooker’s lid and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
- When done, use two forks to shred the chicken and mix it with the flavorful sauce.
Notes
Mississippi Chicken can be served over rice, in sandwiches, or with your favorite sides. To store leftovers, divide portions into airtight containers and freeze.
