  • 12 pieces Hawaiian dinner rolls Soft and slightly sweet rolls.
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese Rich and creamy cheese that melts beautifully.
For the Butter Mixture
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened Adds richness and helps achieve a golden crust.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder Elevates the flavor profile.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped Optional for added color and freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances overall flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Adds a hint of spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, parsley (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, ensuring the top and bottom remain attached.
  4. Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture onto the cut side of each roll.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
  6. Put the top half back on the rolls, pressing down gently to create a mini sandwich.
  7. Arrange the filled rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush any remaining butter mixture on top of the rolls.
Baking
  1. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days in the refrigerator or frozen for a month. Reheat in the oven for best results.
