Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the English muffins in half and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  4. Toast the muffins in the oven for 4-5 minutes.
Sauce Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the marinara or pizza sauce with oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  2. Spread a spoonful of sauce on each muffin half.
Assembly
  1. Add mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  2. Top with desired toppings.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
  2. Top with fresh basil and drizzle of olive oil if desired.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses and toppings. For a crispy bottom, place muffins directly on the oven rack towards the end of cooking.
