Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s nicely browned, typically taking about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the marinara sauce to the skillet with the browned beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix sour cream, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce mixture across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the meat sauce.
- Spread half of the sour cream and cottage cheese mixture over the ravioli.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers: meat sauce, ravioli, sour cream mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on the very top layer.
Baking
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.
Notes
Consider adding sautéed vegetables like spinach or zucchini for added nutrition. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
