  • 1 package (25 oz) frozen ravioli (cheese or meat-filled) Pillowy and delightful, the ravioli brings texture and flavor.
  • 1 cup sour cream Adds creaminess and a slight tang for balance.
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Provides a pleasant texture and contributes to the creamy layering.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Melty, stretchy goodness that binds everything together.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese A salty, nutty addition to complement the other flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For that aromatic kick.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhances overall flavor without overpowering.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning A blend of herbs that brings an authentic Italian touch.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for seasoning and elevating the flavors.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds a pop of color and freshness to your dish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s nicely browned, typically taking about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the marinara sauce to the skillet with the browned beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix sour cream, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce mixture across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the meat sauce.
  7. Spread half of the sour cream and cottage cheese mixture over the ravioli.
  8. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Repeat the layers: meat sauce, ravioli, sour cream mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  10. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on the very top layer.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  3. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  4. Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.

Notes

Consider adding sautéed vegetables like spinach or zucchini for added nutrition. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
