Preparation
  1. Chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.
  2. Drain the corn and black beans thoroughly in a colander to remove excess moisture.
  3. Slice or cube the ripe avocado just before assembling to prevent browning.
Assembly
  1. Layer the romaine lettuce as the base in the serving bowl.
  2. Evenly distribute the corn and black beans over the lettuce.
  3. Add the avocado slices or cubes on top.
  4. Scatter the tortilla strips across the salad.
  5. Sprinkle chopped cilantro and crumbled cotija cheese over the top.
  6. If using, mix the Mexican seasoning blend into the Caesar dressing.
  7. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all ingredients.
  8. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
