Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- If your chicken breasts are on the thicker side, slice them horizontally or gently pound them to about 1 inch thick for even cooking. Pat them dry, and season generously with salt and pepper.
- For extra flavor, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. You can skip this step if short on time.
Mixing the Sauce
- In a mixing bowl, blend together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Spread the creamy mixture generously over each chicken breast, and sprinkle additional cheese on top if desired.
Baking
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- For a golden top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, monitoring to prevent burning.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes after removing from oven, then garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
Notes
Serve alongside creamy mashed potatoes, buttery noodles, or a fresh garden salad. Store leftovers properly to retain moisture.
