  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated, then stir in the milk, tequila, lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean when the cupcakes are ready.
  2. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
Frosting
  1. For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, lime juice, lime zest, and a pinch of salt.
  2. If desired, stir in tequila for that extra margarita flavor.
  3. Once cupcakes are cooled, frost them generously and garnish with lime zest or a small lime slice.

Notes

Ensure your butter and eggs are at room temperature for a smoother batter. You can substitute tequila with additional lime juice or sparkling water if you prefer. If your frosting is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until desired consistency.
