Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until blended.
- Press mixture into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan; bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool.
Cheesecake Filling
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and then gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
Coloring the Cheesecake
- Divide the cheesecake mixture into two bowls.
- Add red food coloring to one bowl and green to the other, stirring until vibrant.
Layering
- Spoon the red cheesecake mixture onto the cooled crust, spreading it evenly.
- Layer the green mixture on top and smooth with a spatula. Swirl the two layers for a marbled effect.
Chill and Serve
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Once set, top with colorful holiday sprinkles.
Notes
Let cream cheese soften to room temperature for a smooth filling. Consider adding crushed peppermint candies or cocoa powder for variations. Store-bought crust can save time.
