Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Icing Preparation
  1. While the brownies are baking, prepare the lemon icing by whisking together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice until smooth. Set aside.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour the lemon icing over the warm brownies, spreading it evenly. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
