Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground sausage Choose spicy or mild as per your preference.
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream or full-fat milk Unsweetened almond milk can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar is preferred, but any favorite cheese works.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.
Optional Vegetables
  • 1 cup Chopped spinach or bell pepper Can be added for extra flavor and nutrition.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook your sausage in a pan, crumbling it as it cooks. Once golden and fragrant, allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until fluffy. Add the heavy cream, a pinch of salt, and pepper, and continue whisking until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cooked sausage and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake the dish in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow the casserole to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing to avoid crumbly pieces.

Notes

For best results, avoid pre-shredded cheese. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat slices in the microwave for about a minute. Freezing may alter texture.
