For the dumplings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Base for dumplings.

  • 0.5 cup milk For moist dumplings.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until soft. Then, add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another minute. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture, coating it well.
  4. Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Season with thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Allow it to simmer for 8-10 minutes until thickened.
Dumplings
  1. For the dumpling dough, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix in softened butter until crumbly, then stir in the milk until just combined.
  2. Drop tablespoonfuls of the dumpling dough on top of the simmering beef mixture.
  3. Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low. Steam the dumplings for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before serving hot.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce. You can incorporate fresh herbs for an aromatic twist.
