Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Spread this mixture over the top of the batter in the pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until lightly golden on top and the center begins to set.
  2. Allow to cool before slicing.
