  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved Select firm and bright green Brussels sprouts.
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil Fragrant oil that enhances all flavors.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adds warmth and depth to the flavor profile.
  • 1 tsp Salt Enhances all the flavors.
  • 1 tsp Pepper For seasoning.
  • 2 tbsp Gochujang Korean chili paste adds depth.
  • 1 tbsp Honey or maple syrup To balance the heat and add sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim and halve Brussels sprouts.
  3. In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until crispy and golden brown.
  2. In a small bowl, mix gochujang with honey (or maple syrup) to create the sauce.
  3. Once Brussels sprouts are done roasting, remove from the oven and toss with the gochujang sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure to keep Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the baking sheet to achieve that perfect crispiness. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.
