Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, softened butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough is smooth and well-combined.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan.
Filling & Baking
- In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
- Arrange the spiced apple slices generously over the crust in the tart pan.
- Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are tender, and the crust turns a lovely golden brown.
- Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For an elevated version, consider adding a sprinkle of chopped nuts over the apples. You can also substitute some apple slices with pears for a flavor twist.
