Method
Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and dried parsley. Mix until well incorporated, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Set a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Assembly
- Take two slices of bread and generously spread the garlic butter mixture onto one side of each slice.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the preheated skillet.
- Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella and grated cheddar cheese over the bread in the skillet.
- Cover the cheese with the other slice of bread, buttered side up.
Cooking
- Allow the sandwich to cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom becomes golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Serving
- Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted, remove from the skillet and allow to rest for a minute.
- Slice the sandwich in half and serve hot, optionally with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For the crispiest bread, spread the garlic butter generously and allow your skillet to adequately preheat. Don't rush the flipping process to ensure a perfectly cooked sandwich.
