  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances the umami flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Adds a fragrant herb component.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar Helps in caramelizing the onions.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust to personal preference.
For Garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook until soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring gently.
Simmering Onion Mix
  1. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the broth thickens.
Cooking the Patties
  1. Shape ground beef into four patties and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook patties over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, adding cheese during the last minute.
Assembling the Burger
  1. Toast onion rolls if desired.
  2. Assemble burgers with the beef patty, caramelized onions, and top roll.
  3. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes
