Preparation
  1. Microwave the cream cheese until soft, about 30 seconds to 1 minute, so it integrates smoothly. Set it aside while you prepare the chicken.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into thinner cutlets. Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken cutlets, searing them for 5-6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  2. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a plate. Add chopped onions to the skillet, sautéing until softened.
  3. Incorporate minced garlic into onions and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, followed by the softened cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Allow it to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Consider adding sautéed mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor. For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
