Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups bread flour Perfectly white, finely milled flour for a soft, airy structure.
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast Golden granules that awaken with warmth.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adds sweetness to balance the bread.
  • 1 cup warm milk Should be lukewarm to activate the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter Infuses the bread with rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors in the bread.
  • gel-based food coloring For vibrant colors reminiscent of springtime eggs.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk with sugar and sprinkle the dry yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Stir in melted butter and salt, mixing well.
  3. Gradually add bread flour until the mixture forms a cohesive dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide it into equal portions.
  7. Color each portion with gel-based food coloring.
  8. Roll colored portions into small balls and layer them in a greased bundt or loaf pan.
  9. Cover again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the bread for approximately 35 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with butter and jam or alongside cream cheese spread. To keep the bread fresh, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store at room temperature for 2-3 days, or freeze it for later use. Consider substituting whole grain flour or reducing sugar for healthier variations.
