Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
Shaping and Baking
- Using a cookie press or piping bag, shape the cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Variations can include zest of lemon or almond extract in place of vanilla.
