  • 1/2 cup sugar Adds sweet brightness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Aromatic and warm.
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Bursting with juicy goodness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances all flavors.
  • to taste Powdered sugar for serving (optional) A sweet dusting for that finishing touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until creamy and glossy.
  3. Grease a baking dish generously.
  4. Layer the torn croissant pieces at the bottom of the dish.
  5. Scatter the mixed berries over the croissant pieces.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants and berries.
  7. Allow the casserole to sit for about 20 minutes.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is just set.
  2. Allow it to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Notes

For best results, use day-old croissants for soaking. Consider serving with bacon or sausage for a balanced meal.
