Preparation
- Cut mozzarella cheese into sticks, approximately 3 inches long.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, a second with beaten eggs, and a third with breadcrumbs.
- In the bowl of flour, add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Dredge each cheese stick in the seasoned flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Freeze the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a fryer or deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Gently drop a few frozen mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce.
Notes
For an extra-crispy coating, consider double-dipping in the egg and breadcrumbs. Monitor the oil temperature for consistent frying to prevent burning.
