Ingredients

For the coating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups Flamin' Hot Cheetos, crushed into fine crumbs
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
For frying
  • 12 Mozzarella sticks (string cheese)
  • Vegetable oil for frying For deep frying
For added flavor
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Adds extra cheesiness to the recipe.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the mozzarella sticks in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls: in the first, add the all-purpose flour; in the second, combine the eggs and milk, whisking together; and in the third, mix the crushed Flamin' Hot Cheetos, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Coating
  1. Take each mozzarella stick and roll it in the flour, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally, roll it in the Flamin' Hot Cheetos mixture.
Frying
  1. In a deep pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Carefully add a few coated mozzarella sticks to the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  3. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding different spices to the coating mixture. For baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for about 8-10 minutes.
