Creole Steak and Shrimp Quesadillas

  • 8 oz steak, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced use a mix of colors for vibrancy
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 tsp Creole seasoning for that unmistakable kick
  • 4 large flour tortillas the canvas for your deliciousness
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar or Monterey Jack work wonders
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking perfection
  • Salt and pepper to taste don't forget to season!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat, allowing it to warm up and shimmer.
  2. Add the sliced steak to the hot oil and sprinkle it with Creole seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and tender, which should take about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through—usually around 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix in the diced bell peppers and onion, cooking until they soften, about 3-4 minutes.
Assembly
  1. In another skillet heated over medium heat, place one tortilla in to start creating the quesadilla base.
  2. Sprinkle half of the tortilla with cheese, then add a generous portion of the steak and shrimp mixture on one side.
  3. Top the filling with more cheese before folding the tortilla in half to create a delightful pocket of flavor.
Cooking
  1. Cook until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted, then carefully flip it to cook the other side.
  2. Once properly cooked, remove from heat, slice into wedges, and serve with your favorite dips or sides.

Notes

To elevate your quesadillas, use fresh ingredients, experiment with different cheeses, and serve with dipping sauces like salsa or guacamole. Consider making your own Creole seasoning for a personal touch.
