- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent.
- Transfer the sautéed onion and garlic to the crock pot. Add in the fresh broccoli florets, broth, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together.
Cooking
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours until the broccoli is tender.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and milk until smooth. Add this mixture to the crock pot and stir well.
- Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes.
- Finally, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and heavy cream until melted.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot.
