  • 4 medium ripe bananas The riper, the better.
  • 2 cups cold whole milk Use whole milk for ultimate creaminess.
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix Boxed mix is fine.
  • 8 oz whipped topping Store-bought is perfect for convenience.
  • 1 package vanilla cookies 'Nilla Wafers are recommended.

Preparation
  1. In a big bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens, about 2 minutes.
  2. Fold in half of the whipped topping.
  3. Slice the bananas to a medium thickness, not too thin and not chunky.
Layering
  1. In a serving dish, layer the vanilla cookies, followed by banana slices, then the pudding mix.
  2. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the remaining whipped topping on top.
  3. Stash the dish in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Notes

To keep bananas fresh, ensure they are fully covered with pudding to prevent browning. You can also add crushed nuts or berries for toppings if desired. Best served chilled.
