Ingredients

For the filling
  • 1 cup lump crab meat Fresh or canned
  • 4 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 2 green onions Finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
For assembly
  • 12 wonton wrappers Delicate and sturdy
  • Vegetable oil For frying

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, lump crab meat, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix thoroughly to create a rich filling.
Assembly
  1. Place about one tablespoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper, moisten edges with water, and fold over diagonally to form a triangle. Press to seal.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (350°F or 175°C). Fry the bombs in batches of three or four for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

Tips: Ensure oil is hot enough before frying, do not overcrowd the skillet, and keep water handy for sealing wontons. For healthier alternatives, consider baking instead of frying.
