Preparation
- Chill your ice cream maker bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours to ensure it churns effectively.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and blue food coloring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
Churning
- Transfer the mixture to your chilled ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 20-25 minutes, until you achieve a soft-serve consistency.
- During the last five minutes of churning, gradually add the chocolate chip cookie dough chunks and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, ensuring even distribution.
Freezing
- Scoop the ice cream into a freezer-safe container and press parchment paper or plastic wrap on the surface to prevent ice crystals.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm, before serving.
Notes
Chill your bowl for at least 24 hours, adjust food coloring to your preference, and consider using different cookie chunks for fun variations. For a healthier version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and sugar with a sweetener of your choice.
