Preparation
- Cream the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill and Bake
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop the dough onto lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies sit for at least 5 minutes to set.
Notes
Cookies can be frozen before baking for later use. Remember to cool them completely before storing in an air-tight container. For chewy cookies, use more brown sugar and do not overbake.
