- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a round ball. If using, roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans or walnuts to coat the exterior.
- Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld.
- When ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap and place the cheese ball on a serving platter surrounded by crackers or vegetable sticks.
